Reporting directly to the sanitation supervisor, the foreperson acts as a team leader, ensuring that sanitation tasks are carried out efficiently and in compliance with established protocols and safety standards.
They supervise and motivate the sanitation staff, provide guidance on proper sanitation techniques, and monitor work progress to ensure timely completion of tasks.
With their strong organizational skills and attention to detail, the sanitation foreperson plays a crucial role in maintaining a clean and hygienic environment.
Position Expectations:
Dismantle, clean and reassemble assigned machinery or equipment.
Operates cleaning equipment and tools for various cleaning purposes.
Understands proper preparation and use of cleaning solutions.
Understands proper storage, labeling, and security of chemicals used for cleaning.
Follows all SOPs, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and safety procedures.
Able to perform all assigned tasks independently with minimum supervision.
Follows all rules and regulations to ensure food safety and quality.
Communicates any food safety or equipment concern with supervision.
Able to work and communicate effectively with coworkers, supervisors, and managers.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Able to lift up to 50 pounds, work at heights up to 50 feet, climb up and down ladders, and work in confined areas and spaces with varying temperatures and humidity.
Oversee the daily operations of the sanitation team, ensuring that assigned tasks are completed efficiently and in accordance with established procedures and safety guidelines.
Monitor and inspect work areas to ensure cleanliness and adherence to sanitation standards.
Coordinate and assign tasks to team members, considering workload, priorities, and individual capabilities.
Train and orient new sanitation employees, ensuring they understand their roles, responsibilities, and safety protocols.
Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment and coordinate their timely replenishment.
Collaborate with the sanitation supervisor to develop and implement sanitation procedures, policies, and improvement initiatives.
Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with sanitation regulations.
Foster a culture of safety, cleanliness, and hygiene within the sanitation team and promote adherence to best practices.
Education, Skills and Knowledge Required:
High School Diploma or GED preferred Basic Computer Skills - MS Office Minimum 2-3 years' experience working in a food manufacturing environment Knowledge of cleaning solutions and chemicals Knowledge of AIB sanitation standards preferred Ability to multi-task with attention to detail Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred Available Shifts:
